It is very annoying that the Nvidia web-driver breaks not only each time Apple issue an OS X upgrade e.g. 10.10 to 10.11, not only each time Apple issue an OS X update e.g. 10.11.5 to 10.11.6, but also breaks even when a security update is installed. (Admittedly all three of these types of Apple updates change the OS X build number you have installed.)
I don't see why Nvidia could not make their driver a little more flexible and at least survive as long as you are still on the same major OS X version.
However Nvidia at least have the decency to be very prompt in issuing new versions when a new Apple update is released.
Note: Nvidia users should by now be used to this and be aware they should wait for and install the Nvidia update first before rushing out and installing the latest Apple update.
Here are the links for the latest Yosemite and El Capitan Nvidia drivers which now support the just released Apple security updates.
